OUR MISSION
Our Mission is to provide quality educational support services in a family based and child-friendly environment to promote healthy families and communities.
The work we do is based on the following guiding principles:
-
Family strength and renewal is essential to our community's quality of life.
-
Every family is unique and contributes in some fashion to the overall well-being of the community.
-
All families, in their development as a caring unit, seek support from entries outside their immediate family.
-
As parents learn more about how their children grow and develop, the better equipped they become to support their child's development.
HOW IT ALL BEGAN
Lee County Families First opened their doors in 1994. The idea came from Dr. Cathy Grace. She got together with Create Foundation and Buddy Stubbs and the center was established only serving Lee County residents. In 1998 we changed our name to The Family Resource Center of Northeast Mississippi and started serving more counties in the state. Our Children's Advocacy center became an accredited member of NCA in 2007 and currently maintains accreditation.
