2nd Annual Coaches Classic Charity Golf Invitational to benefit FRC
The Family Resource Center (FRC) works within the principle of “neighbors helping neighbors” meaning that all their efforts, classes and events are for the benefit of those who need help. Next Monday, June 15, their “neighbors” are paying forward and dedicating the proceeds from a golf tournament for the benefit of FRC.
Sponsors of the 2nd Annual Coaches Classic will hold a charity golf tournament at the Trace Golf Course with the proceeds going to FRC. Quick Stitch, FASTWRAPZ, and Make Your Mark are leading this effort and are additionally committing to match funds from the tournament so that FRC can continue to support the community during this national time of crisis.
FRC helps the community with online life skill classes and with events to help those most impacted by COVID-19, by the economic strain currently affecting so many with unemployment, by pay reductions and furloughs, and by school closures.
Recent events include a partnering with United Way and the Salvation Army to provide gift cards to Walmart to help families purchase food and essentials during the business shut-down during the shelter in place restrictions. They also partnered with Molina Healthcare to provide packages of meat in response to escalating costs and shortages. June 11th, they partnered with Access Family Health to provide COVID-19 drive-thru testing. Coming soon will be a distribution of books to help children continue to recover and advance after school shut-downs.
“Our work is all about helping people. This tournament is such a wonderful support of our work as we address the many needs of those who need our help. We are so grateful for this golf event and for all our partners who recognize the great work that the FRC Staff provides for our communities,” said Christi Webb, Executive Director of FRC.
